Unlocking the secrets to success, sanity, and happiness…As moms, a lot of us tend to struggle with find the right support system. We balance family life, some sort of working life, social life, and then attempt to squeeze in whatever form of self-care we can (taking a hot shower qualifies, right?). Sometimes it feel like we have to do it all with little to no support, but in reality there’s so much support out there for us! We just have to be open to both giving and receiving it. That’s why I’m featuring the short book, Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba on this week’s MUB Reads!

This Week’s Pick→ Girl Code
The MUB Synopsis
Cara is a hardworking entrepreneur and certified Master Life Coach who started life at the bottom and worked her way up. Honestly, her story is super inspiring and empowering – she shares quite a bit of it in this book. Girl Code is actually written with the female entrepreneur in mind, but I found that the tips throughout the book apply to mom life as well. Whether you want to tackle new goals at work or at home, this book has so many uplifting messages to push you forward!

Why I Love It
Empowered, inspired, uplifted, positive, refreshed… these are just a few words to describe how I feel after reading a chapter out of Girl Code. We live in a world where we’re constantly comparing ourselves to others. She has a better outfit that me. How are her kids so well behaved? Why can’t my house be this clean? Look at her hair… her makeup… her personality… the list can go on and on. There’s so much jealousy and self-bashing that goes on, whether we realize it of not. Girl Code offers countless pages of advice on how to overcome these common issues and “unlock the secrets to success, sanity, and happiness…”
In A Nutshell
Whenever I need a little mood pick-me-up, I just read a little excerpt of Girl Code. I even tabbed a few sections throughout the book that really spoke to me so I can quickly go back and reread them. This book is such a short and quick read, but so worth the self investment. So set aside some mommy-time, maybe make a nice bath and grab a glass of your favorite wine, and give yourself the time you deserve!
